New Game +

New Game+ is a feature in Fossil Fighters: Champions that allows players to copy certain data from a cleared save file to a new game file. After completing the main story in Fossil Fighters: Champions, the player will be prompted to save their game, turning it into "game clear data". They will then be notified that they may start a new game, carrying over all of their vivosaurs and some other data.

To perform New Game+, the player must have one clear data file, and select the other save file slot to start a new game. They will then be asked whether they want to transfer data over, or start from scratch. Transferring data will copy information from the clear data, whereas starting from scratch will not transfer any data.

It is still possible to play the original clear data after performing New Game+, but any progress on the original file will not automatically transfer to the New Game+ file.

Transferable data

The following data is carried over in a New Game+:

• All owned vivosaurs, including those in the VMM Bank. Also includes vivosaurs obtained from Bonus Data. Vivosaurs that were in the source file's Bank will be transferred, but will not be accessible in the new game file until the Bank is unlocked through story progression.
• Fossilary completion.
• Icons.
• Bonus Data eligibility. Message Cards must be re-collected from the Fossil Lawn, but a re-download of the data is not required. Note that some Message Cards have features that can only be accessed in the postgame. However, if Igno and Frigi were transferred into the New Game+ save, it is not possible to collect their medals again.
• All collected cutscenes. Notably, this means that New Game+ is the only way to obtain all of the cutscenes in a single save file. 7 uses of New Game+ would need to be performed, for the Male and Female versions of the 4 starter cutscenes.

Non-transferable data

However, the following are NOT carried over:

• Character gender, name, and starter choice. This means that a New Game+ file may choose a different name, appearance, and starter than the source file.
• Sonar, Case, Drill, Hammer, and Hero Level upgrades.
• Any fossils in the Case.
• Key items.
• Gold and Donation Points.
• Sidequest completion. However, sidequests that directly reward special Dino Medals (such as Tonzilla) will not reward those medals again upon completion.
• Masks, excluding the Completionist Mask. If the Completionist Mask has been unlocked in the source file, it will always be transferred to the New Game+ file even if the transferred vivosaur collection is incomplete.
